['liːkɔk], Stephen Butler, kanadischer Schriftsteller englischer Herkunft, * Swanmore (County Hampshire) 30. 12. 1869, ✝ Toronto 28. 3. 1944; schrieb humoristische Erzählungen, Parodien, Nonsenstexte u. a. Kurzprosa, z. B. »Sunshine sketches of a little town« (1912) und »Arcadian adventures with the idle rich« (1914; deutsch »Die Abenteuer der armen Reichen«). Leacock verfasste auch sozial- und literaturwissenschaftliche Werke.
